Sanjiban Choudhury is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Cornell University and a Research Scientist at Aurora Innovation. His goal is to create general-purpose AI and robot assistants that can be easily programmed by everyday users to perform a range of tasks. He leads the Portal group, which focuses on both foundational theory and practical algorithms for efficiently training agents, with applications in home robots, multi-agent games, language models, and self-driving. Sanjiban received his Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington. He is the recipient of several awards, including the ONR Young Investigator Award, Google Research Scholar Award, OpenAI Superalignment Award, and Siebel Scholar Award.
